The access keys works a bit different depending on which browser you are using.
Firefox wants you to press SHIFT, ALT and the letter or number listed below att the same time to take you to the links url.
To press many buttons att the same time may be a problem. If so, you can, if using Windows, use the built in accessibility for sticky keys. Press the shift-button five times in a row and you will get a dialog where you click ok. After that the special buttons such as SHIFT and ALT will be sticky which means you can press them separately for the same result. The sticky keys system is removed in the same way you get it on.
Internet Explorer just needs the ALT button and the letter pressed at the same time. Press enter if you want to go to the links url.
Opera is the best when it comes to access keys. You just need to press the letter, and then enter if you want to follow the link.
A note about the numbers: the numpad won't work, only the number keys on the main keyboard works as access keys.
